Modern AI-models successfully process vast amounts of data and generate new texts, images, music and video based on them. This technological shift challenges humanity with a fundamental question—what constitutes genuine creativity?

MONDAY, 19 JANUARY, 7PM
TUESDAY, 27 JANUARY, 7PM
TUESDAY, 3 FEBRUARY, 7PM

Meeting point: 45 Frith St, London W1D 4SD

Price: £15
What becomes of art's status in the AI era? What new modes of creative expression emerge at the intersection of human and technological agency? How will roles be negotiated between humans and algorithms wielding substantial "creative" capacity?

We invite you to explore these questions at the lecture series "Cloudy, with a Chance of Digital Showers" on January 19, 27 and February 3. Together with curator and journalist Il Gurn and invited experts, we will examine AI's evolution within culture, investigate human-machine co-authorship, probe AI aesthetics and trace emerging cultural mythologies. Three lectures weave together the history of technology, 20th–21st century art, virtual worlds, commercial AI applications, and philosophical frameworks for the posthuman condition.

SPEAKERS

With a background spanning cinema, design, fashion and architecture, Il Gurn brings a distinctive perspective as a curator, filmmaker, cultural producer and writer. On a professional level, he has curated contemporary and media art exhibitions internationally across diverse contexts, including Steps (2025, London), Bursting into Flame (2024, London), Psychotherapist for AI (2023, St. Petersburg), In The Name of Liberated Art (2023, Metaverse), Digital Extravaganza (2022, Dubai), among others.

Anton Finiukov, Product Owner and LiveOps Producer with over 13 years of experience in the games industry. He specialises in all aspects of game design, LiveOps production, and effective multidisciplinary team management. Ex-Sandbox.

Andrey Murashev, AI business strategist with over 14 years of experience applying AI/ML in commercial contexts. He led recommendation systems and conversational AI divisions at Mail.ru/VK and launched an AI startup in London backed by tier-1 VC funds. Ex-Meta.

Anastasia Garnova taps into psychology, Soviet archival studies and research into the most unusual cultural phenomena (i.g., prison tattoos). She has spent 8 years in contemporary art, working in museums and galleries in Russia, the UAE and the UK. Her most recent curatorial projects include Time to Gather Stones (2025, London), Digital Extravaganza (2022, Dubai), The Ethereum Aether: History of Media Art (2021, The State Hermitage Museum) and Creativity and Daydream: Contemporary Korean Art (2020, The State Hermitage Museum). Now happily working as an independent curator in London. Specialization:  connecting the unconnectable and making it concise. She applies her skills both in exhibitions and educational projects, proven with 1,000+ students.
